How do you add IE9 blocker

OK! I know where to get it and I've tried several times to install it but I don't think I'm doing something right as my vista continues to want to update IE to ver 9. I'm quite satisfied with 7.

Can you hide the update to IE9? That way you won't get Windows Update on that one anymore. I searched for the IE9 blocker but that tool seems to be for administrators?

I could block IE8 with a script for XP because DavidCP posted it a few years back. The script must be different for IE9 I think but don't know what it is. Perhaps he can help you out?

 

Or perhaps you can try to block IE9 by reading the link below about blocking IE8, downloading the tool where you found the blocker tool for IE9 and changing the *80* into *90* in the command, for instance:

Creat the above key, and add the following DWORD value:

DoNotAllowIE90

Set it to 1 to block.
