How Do You Delete . . .

. . . items in your Add/Remove Programs window that no longer exist. The problem is that I've deleted a number of programs manually by going to the directory and just deleting the files, but the name of the program still stays in the Add/Remove Programs window.

When I go into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs under the Install/Uninstall tab, the old stuff is still there. Then when I highlight the name of the program and click "Add/Remove..." I get an error message saying it can't find file XYZ and uninstallation will not continue. Almost all of these are old programs I no longer have so I cannot re-install them.

I'm running Windows ME. Does anyone know how I can clean this up? I've got quite a few of those old program names still in there.

    Thanks!
