How do you find your credit score?

Does anyone know of any legit websites I can go to to get my credit score? There are so many and I it seems like they all want too much information.

I thought there was a banking act to get this for free once a year. Does anyone know about it or how it works?

Equifax and Experian are the biggests credit reference agencies (would be likely the only one I would trust) btu dont know enough about your tax and credit laws in your country to make a definitive comment, maybe someone in the US may ahev personal review of a specific service.

I'm always weary of using anything like these even if they are legit, too much personal info in the interweb is not always good.

I gained mine a few years back from my bank, due to a loan and I asked what my score was.

STAY AWAY from anyone who advertises. You are entitled to your credit score, with details, once a year, or after you are denied credit.

Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion are the three credit reporting agencies in the US.

A: The three nationwide consumer reporting companies have set up a central website, a toll-free telephone number, and a mailing address through which you can order your free annual report.

Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. The form is on the back of this brochure; or you can print it from ftc.gov/credit. Do not contact the three nationwide consumer reporting companies individually. They are providing free annual credit reports only through annualcreditreport.com, 1-877-322-8228, and Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

You may order your reports from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies at the same time, or you can order your report from each of the companies one at a time. In addition to Tibb's great post, you might want to try just asking your bank. A lot of banks, especially if they offer mortgage and investment options, will be able to give their customers a free credit report. Do not under any circumstances contact a company that advertises on TV or radio!

And of course, any time you apply for a loan, they will pull a credit report, which you have a right to get a free copy of. The Guy and I both have copies of ours from when we refinanced the house last year.
