Allright...after much annoyance i have traced down all of my computer crashes to a little feature on asus motherboards called PEG (Pci express graphics) Link Mode. Ati support site said to go and set the value from normal/auto to slow in order to cure any and all 3d related crashes on x300/x600/x800. they said it was in the bios...however...i did not find such an option on my a8v-e deluxe mobo...while its manual clearly says that peg link mode is part of the motherboard. I must find out how to get to that mode and set the value to slow or i will go crazy resetting my pc every time i run any game.

i found it..and...the manual clearly states that the available options are auto, slow, normal, fast, faster. however, mine has only auto, disabled, normal, fast, faster. I hope that disabled somehow magicaally turns out to be = to slow. Anyone ever have this problem?

Have you by chance checked to see perhaps a bios upgrade may reveal you an answer?
