How do you know the admin is?

I am working on cleaning my computer and adding all of the programs suggeste
in the spyware thread.

I tried opening in safe mode. A different screen appeared. My name did not appear. It said Admin. and it had an icon I have never seen. I used my password and it would not work.

I have windows xp.pro. that someone put on my computer. I am running windows ie 5.01 I tried to use iefix when I did it deleted ie 6. I can not update to ie 6. so

The admin password there is the one you set upon installing xp. Generaly its left blank for most people.

 

The problem is you can't enter a blank admin password in XP Pro. So you've got to know it to login.

Although it should be possible to login with your username/password into safe mode. That is considering your main account has admin privleges. Which most people do.

Once you log back into the system again you can go and change the admin accounts password to something you know for future use.

I think you are confusing the administrator account with something else.

It can be blank. It can even be on a domain and be blank.

 

Yep you can and it happens about 90% of the time. Escpessialy if its an oem from like dell or gateway.
