Sometimes it is fairly simple. There are two ways of doing this.

Well, in IE, you can use View, Source, then search for a file that ends in .swf. Usually it will look similar to this:

    Example:

<param name="movie" value="/layout04/newhf/ng_nav.swf"> You will need the /layout04/newhf/ng_nav.swf copied typically after the website you just browsed to.

This will make it into a full screen version (sometimes) of the flash. Then click save page as. Under the file menu.

With firefox you can do the same...OR...you can use a great tool called "View Page Info". Typically you right click anywhere on the screen and select "View Page Info"

Lets say I want to take the image of that Majorgeeks graphic at the top left hand corner of this site.

So, I right click on this page, then select "View Page Info", then select the media tab. This lists all media type files, like images, flash files, and whatnot. At the address portion, you can select a location, then you can typically see the image displayed at the bottom. Now you can just click Save As, and save it somewhere. Flash videos won't typically display at the bottom, but, you can still download them this way.

theefool, thanks very much for this info also. I have a quick question in reference to firefox, I use the Mozilla browser and I can follow all your directions. My problem is that when I click 'Save As', box opens I give it a name and a location hit ok but nothing is saved. Tried this with the majorgeeks logo but it did not work. Do you know if Mozilla v1.6 will do this. This method is much easier than trawling through IE view source and looking for the .swf file.....

    Cheers

Also, if you save as function does not seem to work, then try this:

When you see the different images, you'll notice the actual URL of each file. Just below the address box and just above the Title Attribute. You can actually highlight this information and copy and paste to your firefox (or other browser). THis will bring up the image, so now you should be able to File, Save file as (or is it save page as). This is another way to accomplish this.

Also, firefox is not at 1.6 yet. 1.06 is out, though, there is 1.5 alpha 2s out there.
