How do you set MS Outlook 2003 as default email client?

Hello,
I've recently started getting a pop-up that says "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
-it's a pain: it even freezes my games when I'm playing -I figure that if I set Outlook 2k3as default it'll go away but for some reason I can't find the opyion on Outlook 2003 and via CTRL pannel it offers only OE.
-Anyone know how to set Outlook 2003 as the default email?
-another possibility is that my keyboard software that checks my email may be running amok...any ideas?

In Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Programs>E-mail - change to Microsoft Outlook

thanks, but that doesn't seem to help.
Setting the default through IE (which I don't use) doesn't get rid of the pop-up.
I use Firefox as my default browser -if tha makes any difference.
Still wondering if you can set Outlook as default email client through OUTLOOK.

What anti-virus are you using ?

I'm using Kaspersky -it's up to date.

 

I am not familiar with Kaspersky but have a look here,

NOD32 is an anti-virus and can cause this message, might give you an idea of where this is coming from.

Thanks for the help Matacumbie -the problem is no longer affecting me for some reason -all I did was run CCleaner; Adaware; and Spybot then rebooted and POOF! -no more pop-up -none of the results from the previously mentioned apps found anything so I assume that it was the reboot that did it....I just wish I knew why. Oh well...a problem solved is, at the very least: solved.
