I would like to know how to rename a drive, specifically the virtual drive(?) Alcohol 120% creates. I'm running WindowsXP Home.

    Thanks in advance,

This worked for me using XP pro not sure if home is the same,

Start / Control panel / administrative tools / Computer management
in the left hand window expand the storage tree and click on disk management,
your removable drives should be listed in the bottom left hand window select the drive you want to change then right click and select change drive letter and paths.

I might have done something wrong, but this is what I got when I did all of that:

    Try this

    1. Go to System Administrative Tools (if you can't find it in the Start menu, you need to turn it on in Start Menu Properties).

    2. Open Computer Management.

    3. From the left menu, choose Disk Management under Storage.

    4. Right click on the drive whose letter you would like to change and select "Change drive letter and paths..."

    5. Select the drive letter you want.

Remember: It is not recommended to change the drive letter of a drive if the drive contains system files or has programs installed on it.

Notice the last comment it might screw up your computer

What I meant was, I wanted to change the name(type?) of the second DVD Drive, not the letter. I was wondering how to do that.

Thanks for showing me how to change the letter, both of you. I'm sure I'll need to know that somewhere down the road.

    I might be wrong but

I dont think that is possible. You see the reason is being classified as a DVD drive is because of the driver alcohol 120 registered with windows. As fas as windows is concerned that drive is a dvd drive. You might change the icon but I dont think you can tell windows what kind of drive to be unless you delete and in that case it won't be named anything. that might work since alcohol 120% might install it again at reboot.

There might be an option within alcohol 120 that allows you not to have that virtual drive

    Makes sense to me.
