How do I get a Desktop shortcut (or something else) into the notification area of my taskbar? I saw a post by bigbazza that said he (she?) used TaskSwitch xp to get icons into the notification area. But on the TaskSwitch xp website, I didn't see anything that indicated it has a utility for doing that. I probably didn't understand what I was seeing. Can someone help? Thanks.

    Definitely a "he". :D

You were probably thinking of SlickRun. My most favoured and most used program each day.

    SlickRun is available at http://www.bayden.com/SlickRun/.
Not available at MG downloads unfortunately. :cry :(
For example, if I type X and <enter> I go straight to Excel, OP gets me Opera browser, WW goes to Weather Watcher, AV loads Avast. MYE gets My Explorer, MYD gets My Documents. You get the idea. I've got well over 100, instead of Shortcuts on your startup screen. Upper or lower case works just as well. I use lowercase. Just highlighted the above in upper case to make them stand out

I hate using other peoples PC's, that don't have SlickRun fitted. So slow to navigate around theirs. :) Bazza

Thank you, bigbazza, for the reply. I downloaded SlickRun and now will read the entire Help file in an attempt to learn how to use it. I know it probably isn't difficult, but I imagine it takes me about three times as long to learn these things as the average computer user. Sure appreciate your help. I had no idea there was such a program out there--and for free, to boot!

It really is simple. Just like creating shortcuts, but all the shortcuts end up in one file and not scattered across your Startup screen.

Just make sure any parameters (if any) are in their own box, not following on from the command (as in creating Shortcuts the usual way). Bazza
