How good are nvidia 6100 intergrated graphics?

Hi,
I am upgrading my pc, which currently has a sapphire radeon 9550 agp video card. I am getting a bare bones system with integrated graphics nvidia 6100. I will not be able to use my agp card as the new motherboard is pci e. Is this integrated graphics ok for gaming (or equal to what card i use currently) until i can afford a new graphics card? Otherwise i think i will have to rethink my upgrade.

hi joanna, the 6100 is well...no other way of putting this....rubbish! you probably can run low-end games. its best if you upgrade to a proper graphics card.....

 

That was what i thought, i was just hoping! 'Integrated' usually means rubbish.

It's not rubbish. It will probably be at least as good as your Radeon 9550.

Yes, it is low end by today's standards, but when you compare it to a Radeon 9550, it's actually pretty good.

More importantly, the games that you play will determine if the graphics card is suitable for now.

 

Intel+integrated=crap
Nvidia+integrated=not that bad

ANYTHING is better than the Intel integrated graphics and that 6100 should do just fine to hold u over until you can pop in a new video card

Hi,
Do you think it would plays sims2 (all expansions), civilisation 4, Age of empires 3, Civ city rome, Command and conquer Zero hour, Rome total war.... I don't really play 'Fear' etc just neeed graphics to cope with the games i play.

Yes, you should be fine on all of those.

 

ok i take it back. yes the 6100 should be able to handle those games...

 

Technology is even bringing intigrated graphics up to speed... who'd have thunk it?
