Often times I leave my computer on for the day and have it go into Stand by. I have my refresh rate set at 75 hertz and im using Windows XP. My monitor is a Mag Innovision monitor (not sure if thats the model or brand). My question is whether or not I should be worrying about my monitor overheating or not. Sometimes it gets a little warm but not too hot but I know its possible to ruin a monitor this way and so I wanna be careful.

There are monitor fans but pretty much the monitor is a very well built piece of hardware. Actually the monitor is just fine just like a cable modem <-- pretty much the same temp.) The really only thing people really don't like is the monitor acctually heats the room up. There are monitor fans but really unneeded unless you need to cool off your room. It probably will extend the life of the monitor but I'm not familar with monitor fans and how effective they are at long periods of time.

Oh heck yea. I normally when i'm not using the monitor I just turn it off and its all good. The major reason why a cooling device is needed for a monitor is to cool down a room when it gets around 120 degrees F outside ya know. Believe me that monitor really heats up a room slowly but to a considerable amount.
