    Hi Everyone:

I need some help. I had a computer that was running windows vista, but because it had many software issues. I decided to change the Operating System. I went back to windows XP.

But After I did my PC there are some issues that I do not know how to solve. They are video and audio.

XP does not recognized the drivers for the PC. I did update in microsoft portal but I still have the same issue.

I download a software called driverMagic and is telling that I need some drivers but I have to paid so they can let me know where to go to get the drives of my audio and video.

The audio and video are in the same card as my processor. I have an HP Pavillon a6000 model.

Please let me know what should I do to restore my audio and my video in XP. If I don't really know the hardware manufacture. HP gives me the drivers but for Windows Vista but not from XP.

    Thanks

Post your full model #. (a6000 is just the series name)
    Also:
Use Everest to get a report of your system’s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment
    Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

Click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware-related Pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

Here's a link to your motherboard (no drivers, just info and specifications) :
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...13&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3378386&lang=en
It's made by ECS with Intel video and RealTek audio.
And here's the links to WinXP drivers:
    Intel GMA950 video:
    from ECS: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pr...ailid=817&DetailName=Driver&MenuID=44&LanID=0
from Intel: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...&OSFullName=Windows* XP Professional&lang=eng (this is actually newer than the ECS driver)
And here's the audio driver, available right here at MajorGeeks:
    RealTek ALC888: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Realtek_High_Definition_Audio_for_2KXP03_d4902.html
If you need other drivers, try the drivers at the ECS link, or post here, and we'll link you up ;)
...and welcome to Major Geeks! :major

@ dlb, Are you sure you have enough info to state that is the right board? That is for a Pavilion a6020a. The OP says he has a Pavilion a6000.
The a6000a uses ECS 945GCT-HM, but the a6000n uses Asus M2N68-LA. And both those PC's come with Vista as the supplied OS.
There are different boards all through that Pavilion series. (and most HP series)

MotherBoard manufacture name: ASUS M2N68-LA. SOCKET AM2

Supports Athlon 64. And I know that at the front of the case says Athlon 64.

    The PC is PAVILLON a6000n

    Product #: RX885AA
    S/N : CNH7160yJ6

    OOOOOPS!

My bad. I poked around at the HP site last night, and many of the 6000 series had the ECS board I linked to, and wouldn't you know it, it's the wrong one. I took a shot, I figured the odds were that that's the board he had, and, of course, I was wrong. Hopefully nobody tried to 'force' the install of incorrect drivers.
So, I apologize for being so hasty, but with limited info, it can be hard to get accurate links for the correct devices.

No problem, I just wondered if you saw something I didn't because I am good at not always catching a critical piece of info. ;)
