How I removed System Alert Malware

I picked up fake system alert and many, many popups. I couldn't get it to stop nor could I shut the computer down so I eventually just turned it off. Then I couldn't get it to boot, not even in safe mode, etc.

I opened the box, disconnected the SATA cable and used a SATA to USB adapter to connect the hard drive to another computer. From the other computer I ran a Malwarebytes scan which found and removed to bug.

Hooked the SATA cable back up and the computer started up just fine.
