How It Tell If USB 2.0 Is Enabled ?

I put my computer together no problem. However, I cannot remember if I installed the USB drivers from the motherboard CD. I checked the Control Panel under Systems/Device Manager but it does not give USB version numbers, only driver details.

    How to tell?

    Thanks.

If it shows an enhanced controller or root hub then it is enabled.:)

I just tried to install the drivers from the CD. I get a message stating that if XP SP1 or better is running the drivers need not be installed is native (or something like that).

And yes, it does show standard/enhanced. So, I assume all is well in the land of USB 2.0.

    Thanks for info.

Enhanced denotes that USB 2.0 is installed, so all should be well!

Just be aware that you could still have USB 1.1 ports, along with USB 2.0. Withe my ECS K7S5A PRO motherboard, the rear USB ports are 2.0 but the front ones are 1.1. One way to tell: if you plug a USB 2 device into a USB 1.1 port, Win XP will display a message telling you the device will perform faster if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port.

I do want access to USB 2.0 in front, so I just use a USB extension cable that came with my flash drive.
