How long does it take for a new thread to propagate?

I (tried) to start a new thread over an hour ago @ hardware about a wireless card, and it hasn't shown up yet. Do newbies get posts "proofed" first? --I would completely understand!

Huhm. Never mind. This one showed up immediately, so I'm going to assume my post went into the Twilight Zone. I'll try posting it again.
    Thanks anyway!

    Hi

It depends on what time you post it and if there is an admin/moderator on. You posted in the middle of the night US time which is where most of the moderators live.

To insure your posts don't go into moderation, do not use excessive punctuation.:)

Also, if a post does go into moderation, please do not repost it.

Sleep? in the middle of the night?!? What is that word...sleep?)
Ah, thank you. I'm sure that is exactly what happened, and I DID use lots of puncuation in an effort to make it easier to read. Mea culpa.
    Have a great day.

As an old forum surfer, who has his own, by the way, here's a tip.

Always use proper capitalization and keyboard punctuation. Use 'Emote Icons' or "Smilies" sparingly. Some forums have NO limit on Smilies, while others have a set number that you can use, per post.

Then break your post up into proper paragraphs, to separate thoughts.

Any post is easier to read, if it's not just one big gob of letters all run together.

I've read posts, obviously from adults, that looked like they were typed by a five year old where nothing is capitalized and no punctuation is used. That's terribly hard to read!

Use Spell Check! Then re-read your post before you click the "Submit Reply" or "Send" button. If it doesn't sound right to you, it probably won't sound right to anyone else.

Then "Welcome to a really great forum".

    Happy Holidays!

I second what Shadow has said. I didn't start posting that way till I saw how professional the other threads looked and some post were set. Now That's how I type/text.
PS: Welcome to the "Family"! All are nice and welcoming.

    Thank you, Shadow and Spock,

I did punctuate the dickens out of the first attempt, so I'm sure that's exactly what happened. I tried it again and it all worked out. Even got the answer I needed!

Thank you very much. So far, everybody here has been very helpful and understanding.

    Have a great weekend!
