How long does your windows dvd maker take to burn a 1.5 hr movie?

I import wmv. files for burning. Usually end up with about 140 min of a possible 150min. It takes like 8 hrs to encode and burn. Is this the norm?
I've tried looking for options in the windows dvd maker program. None that I see making a difference. I usually burn a rewritable disk first.(8 hrs). If the burn was successful, I burn a second non rewritable which only takes about half hour.
    Thanks.

Depends on what CPU you have. If it's a single core then just do it overnight as encoding takes up every CPU cycle. Heck, my single cored machine would hardly respond if I was encoding to the point that it was unusable even for simple surfing unless I had the patience of Jobe.rolleyes

Luckily, I had bought a motherboard that would accept a dual-core with just a BIOS update. The change was literally like night and day!!! I kid you not man. Hardware time.

Oh, this was on an X2 3800+, the encoding took around 1.5 hrs.

    It's a duo core. I think I'll try a bios update.
    Thanks.
