how many time can u use xp?

I've got a retail copy of MS XP sp2, havent been used before, so my question is if i install the xp copy on my laptop will i be able to use it again and install it on another system or can i only use the program once, on one machine??

One machine only, at a time. If its retail, it can be removed from a machine and installed on another, but never more than one at the same time.

 

how will it know if its been installed on another computer? windows ME wasnt that way, cause i had problems with win98, and my cousin had win ME and it installed perfectly on my computerl

 

it will install, but eventually you won't be able to do updates on 1 comp, or the other, or both. if you have a newer disk, then you will have 30 days to activate the os, or won't be able to login. your key, is only valid on 1 machine at a time. g/l, sos

All Windows has been this way. Its just that today's OSes force you to be legit.

oh for sure i would switch if linux played all the games that i play ( WoW, Gunz, lots of fps and role plying / blizzard games ) as soon as linux does that, ill switch, but until then, ill get new xp cds.

 

If we can use it not once, there is no advantage to Windows then
