How much better would a 256 DDR geforce 5500 video card than my current 9200 128 DDR?

Trying to compare befor I go ahead with my decision..

I want a better video card considering my 9200 128 mb radeon isn't running what i expected it to run with my World of Warcraft. Don't get me wrong, it's not a big problem but it's not what I expect.

I've been searching tigerdirect.ca and the FX 5500 geforce 256 MB DDR agp video card caught my eye, it not only looks good but has the highest rating..

what do you guys think, should I go with it or not?

or can someone find me a good video card for the price of $80-105 that would be way better than my 9200SE radeon 128 MB ram? here is the link

Any of these cards would be much better than your current card, and a good amount better than that 5500. I would recommend the Geforce 6600 first since it's a newer card than the others, but any of them will be much better than a Geforce 5500. Also, assuming you have an AGP slot:

    Radeon 9600XT for $95:

    or Geforce 6600 for $113:

    or a Radeon 9800 Pro for $118:

I don't think they take paypal or ship to Canada. However, you can probably get about the same deals at tigerdirect.

Ah, when you said $80-105 you probably meant Canadian dollars. Not U.S. Dollars. :) In that case, I would save up a little more money for one of the cards in my previous post. A Radeon 9600 XT, Radeon 9800 Pro, or a Geforce 6600 (GT if you can afford it)

    hmm alright cool

also I was thinking about ATI RADEON 9800 XT 256MB AGP 8X VIDEO CARD

one card (the seller lives 10 mins away from me) that card is going for $55 cad seems like a good deal for that, what do you think?

btw, would it matter if i got a 128 mb instead of a 256? i'm currently playing World of Warcraft with my 9200 radeon 128 mb and im using fraps(recording program) to make movies and record clips. unfortunetly the quality comes ou tbad for some reason(my video card compress's the file thats why it gets really bad) but i can hardly record because i start to lag and it kinda get's choppy, so im looking for a video card that would get rid of this problem. I have 1 gig of ram and a 3.0 intelp4.

The 9800 XT with 256 is an awesome card, and 55 is a WICKED deal as long as the card isn't broken.

    Go for it :D

"i wouldnt get the 9800 pro linked above"

Why not? I have it. It's a great card.

"and if you can get that 9800xt for that price id go for that (long as nothing is wrong with it)"

I agree, however at $55, an old saying comes to mind. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

actually, Newegg JUST launched their UPS shipping to Canada, so you're in luck ;)

UPS is now an option during checkout, so you shouldnt have any issues.

if you have a couple extra bucks, heres an XFX 6600GT for $126 USD after rebate... though you'd have to double check if the rebate applies in canada?

its a little better than a 9800XT. keep in mind that card is Dual DVI, so you eitehr need a DVI monitor, or use a DVI-VGA adapter

Ah, Ok. I was thinking it was a Sapphire card. Fair enough then. :)

Sorry to sorta steal this thread, but I see tigerdirect.com is in there.

They have the "Bill Me Later" option. Is that just basically a payment plan for the order without any additional charges?
