how much would my graphics quality be reduced if I used a DVI VGA adapter.

Thats a DVI graphics card going into a VGA monitor.


If I should just buy a monitor then does anyone know where I could get a really cheap oneconfused

 

Minor, if you even notice at all.

 

I did this for a short period and did not really notice any difference even when gaming. Differences are probably so slight the average user will not notice.

I used an adapter that came with my card that was a VGA to DVI adapter. Plug monitor into one end and then plug into video card DVI receptacle. Probably could be bought at any comp store.

The DVI connectors on the back of a video card are of the DVI-I kind. This means they output both the analog signal and the digital signal. A DVI to VGA adapter does not convert the signal, it just extracts the analog information from your DVI port. So there is absolutely no need to buy a more expensive adapter.
