How nice a virus

I stepped away from my PC for 2 seconds and when i come back Avast is going off because of a spyware called Antispyware soft installed its self on my PC. lol took me all of 2mins to delete it. And the weird part how did i get it? only pages open was playlist.com and gmail.:confused

Rouge advert on the play.com page, gmail wouldnt have thought but does have embedded ads or a attachemnt in email from someone, opened due to a referesh (gmail does refresh at times to update live saves to draft emails and incomming emails or google talk if you use that.

Not downloading from p2p or anything at same time with an app?

But think a trip to the Malware forum is in order if Avast didnt quarantine the malware or did it and its not installed just was halted in its tracks.

If i was you i would do a full scan to make sure nothing else got in with it!

Seconded. If it actually installed itself, a quick trip through the Read & Run would be a smart thing to do.

Only thing i am stuck with is a browser hijack. If i google something and click a link in a search page it takes me somewhere else. and No, No p2p or anything else just gmail and playlist was open.
