Had a thread simialr here too

I shut down my PC every night so reboots happen once to twice daily depending on what's going on.. updates... uninstalls that complete after a reboot, the odd BSOD... lol

My desktop stays switched on for about 16 hours a day average I guess...

Definitely shut down at night. Boot up a few times a day. Why leave it on if tasks are not scheduled :confused

Just when a new application requires it or after updates.

The reason i leave mine on is that it is folding for Stanford.

    reboot...? why...?
as long as there is Hibernation and Logoff,
shut-down is rarely used in my case...maybe, only when i have a blue screen error i guess...

Turn it off for the night and also reboot after WU updating, after deleting programs etc.

Well, right now about 50 times a day as I'm having issues but usually perhaps once every few weeks as I run them 24/7 for folding like Bill. Now that W7 is out, I can see rebooting daily on my second machine as I have W7 and Ubuntu on there, W7 during the day to fool around with and Ubuntu at night.

Ive noticed on my Vista box, there are two processes that tend to eat up memory if i dont reboot every so often. one of the svchosts and audiodg start to eat memory like crazy after a week or so. i have a little batch file i run in scheduled tasks that reboots twice a week, tuesday and friday at 4AM.

I'm the only one who only does it a few times a year? Interesting. I did have to make the financial decision to not let it actually run constantly (sorry, F@H, but my electric bill has gone down $14 per month), but hibernate is better than rebooting.

I keep my computer running pretty much 24/7. Only times I reboot is when the games I play (that shouldnt take much usage) freeze or act slower. Then after reboot usually better. Atleast I hope.:cry

I reboot once a day. I turn my laptop off at night. I was starting to get a BSOD if I left it on constantly.

Now, our desktop stays on constantly until it needs to restart after updates, or when it freezes for some MS Windows unknown reason.

Usually once a week. I just put the iMac onto sleep at night as it uses barely any power. Usually go to girlfriend's for the weekend so it goes off then.

My lap 2or 3 times a day depends on how often I get on it. Like now I'll shut down go off and when I come back I'll reboot. Now my desk top the worst when power goes out other then that mostly when the auto up date reboots it. Other wise maybe once a month just to give it a break STS(so to speak)

A few times a week. Mainly for updates or hitting the reset button or my mom turns it off.
