how old is "old"?

i was chided in another thread -- and called a troll! -- for bringing up something which occured yesterday (29th) and was reported today (30th). mr attitude's exact quote "that's old news".

geesh, just how long IS a news cycle nowadays?!

i was also going to ask about kerry's confirmation, but i guess that must be "ancient" by now.

CatT, it is old news, just about everybody knew that Jim Nabors was gay.

 

there is a great chasm between what everybody "knows" and what is actually true. everybody also "knows" he married rock hudson in the 70s, and that seems to have been completely unfounded.

the fact that Nabors denied being gay for 40+ years makes today's announcement a rather significant turnaround, imho.

in any case, if i am a troll for even mentioning it, what are CNN, Fox, NBC, Yahoo, Salon etc?

 

Personally I don't think someones lifestyle has anything to do with anyone but those affected by it.

As for Trolling, well CAT, this thread is trolling, when an Admin says or does something to you and you have an issue with it, it should be brought to the Admin or Mods attention through PM, making a public post on it is the internet version of a revolt.
It's one of those things that should be dealt with privately in an adult like manner.

So don't be surprised if there are repercussions about this thread

i am normally willing to go along with lese majeste, but in this case the mod in question clearly called me a troll/locked the thread simply b/c he MISREAD it.

i said nothing negative about nabors being gay. why do you throw in such a comment? to me that reeks of trolling. to go from "hey look what's in the news" to "catt you close-minded redneck homophobe"...that's quite a jump!
