How the hell do you get audio out of FRAPS?

I haven't seen anything that deals with this query at all so I'm feeling a bit victimised :cry . I have had a registered version of FRAPS for quite a long time now but nothing I seem to do seems to get the audio playing along with the video. FRAPS itself is no problem at all barring the very minor FPS tax and the video itself is excellent quality. But despite clicking 'record sound' and 'detect best sound input' and having my sound device (Realtek AC97 Audio, if you're interested) selected along with the sound input automatically set to stereo, I just can't get any sound out of it.

I've been trying to get it to record 'Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion' but it's just not having any of it. Could somebody please help? Am I totally alone with this issue again, as I seem to have been for nearly every fault I've had for the past four months?
