Ok, so here's one for you all... I've searched this
Edit Post by Trex™ on google and keep ending up with answers to the wrong question. Searching the title of this thread, exactly, comes up with several sites about how to switch from UEFI to ACHI, partitioning hard drives, and things like that. So apparently this question borders on hardware, but I still feel its software since all I'm wanting to do is access the BIOS.

Attempting the obvious, such as going to settings, update and security, recovery, and restarting the computer to access advanced startup options does not work. There are no UEFI setting options or the like. On boot-up, there are no function keys to enter BIOS like with older systems. And bringing up the 'msconfig' boot options shows me these options:

Safe Boot with options for Minimal, Alternate Shell, Active Directory Repair, and Network
Along with No GUI Boot, Boot Log, Base Video, and OS Boot Information
Sooo... exactly how does one enter the BIOS on this damn machine? Anyone have an idea?

OS Boot Information, maybe? It's the only one that looks like it might be worth a try...

When you boot up the computer, during the POST screen, there should be options that come up on the screen to access setup and boot options. You have to press the specified key during the POST screen. On my Dells, it's F2. Your computer may use a different key. That's the only way to access UEFI/BIOS settings. They can't be accessed once Windows loads.

After reading Eldon's link, I must add that my computers did NOT come with OEM Windows 10. I installed Windows 10 retail to them.

I updated to 10, and found this problem, too. The link that Elden gives shows how, and it is how I did mine.
Because Windows 10 wants you to run gpt mode, and not mbr, it does not help with these things.
My Lenova g70-70 is like that, and I have changed on re-installation , by putting Windows 7 on first, then A clean installation of Windows 10.
I also have the 'start up choice ',at start up, so that I can access things if my laptop has a wobbly.

The choices shown in Eldon's link DON'T show up in my retail Win 10. If I had OEM Win 10, they might.

Trex's problem was the same for me-my Lenova would not boot off the f2/f1 or any other, until I booted to recovery, as in That link of Eldon's.
I did a little write-up on recovery and repair in Windows 10- Page 4 of it could be useful to Trex, as it tries to put some of the things together-add this to Eldon's link, and I am sure it will be useful.
    Otherwise Max's bit on
hold down the shift button and click restart button at the same time to achieve the same restart options without having it on all the time, if your Windows is running O.K, should give you your startup options
I should add that the document will download as you click on it- I did create this myself.

You guys are misunderstanding... check my original post where I started the thread and said "I attempted the obvious." I wouldn't waste you guy's time without using google first... let my try to explain a bit clearer... when I boot up and go into advanced boot options, there is NO UEFI settings option. I've done this on other user's computers before, so I know it's usually there, but I'm assuming because my BIOS is AHCI and not UEFI, I don't have the option.

It's very strange... I've never had a computer in which you could not access the BIOS.

Yep, that is the easy and quick way, and I knew of that little trick. Thanks, but for some reason, even after I do that and access the advanced boot options, my UEFI settings are not a choice. I suspect it's because my BIOS isn't UEFI... it's AHCI.

    Open System Information.
    What does BIOS Mode show?

I found I had to get into the bios to change from AHCI to legacy.
I , also had a hell of a job to work out why I could not just press f2 and get into the bios. In the end, I found that by holding down the fn button, and tapping the f2 button as I started up, got me into the bios. My Lenova came AHCI.
I did the settings recovery reboot option first.
Sorry, but I cannot offer any further help on that, perhaps Eldon has more information for you.
    Good luck.

No, you've been helpful... thank you. It sounds like your issue was the most similar to mine, and what you were saying about switching to legacy from AHCI is more along the lines of what I found when I searched for how to gain access to an AHCI BIOS. Honestly, there wasn't anything specific I needed to change in the BIOS when this all started, but at this point, it's become more of a personal challenge... like... "I can't access the BIOS? How dare you, computer!" And besides, who knows what I may need to do in the future... it just bothers me.

If you're referring to the advanced startup options when I go through update and security, and then recovery, (OR hold down shift as I click "restart") I have only one real choice to start with, which is "troubleshoot." From there, I have either reset this PC or advanced options, from which I obviously click advanced options. The next screen has all the options you see on the website page you provided EXCEPT the UEFI Firmware Settings. That is to say... System Restore, System Image Recovery, Startup Repair, Command Prompt, and Startup Settings.

Frustrated with the missing UEFI option, I clicked on Startup Settings. If memory serves me, (and I may have to go back and do it again) the only thing that did was bring me back to the original screen. I am sure, though... that I couldn't find any firmware settings, UEFI or otherwise. From this point, I loaded Windows and accessed the msconfig snap-in to check the boot options from there. Again, short of booting up in safe mode, which I may try as my next attempt, there were no promising options.

Again, at this point in time, there is no immediate need to access the BIOS... it simply annoys me that the system thinks it can deny me. I've never had a computer that wouldn't allow access to the BIOS. I feel as if the solution is probably closer along the lines of what baklogic is hinting towards. I would probably have to switch from AHCI to legacy, which brings about a whole new set of problems. At any rate, I won't be attempting that any time soon. Worse case scenario, I have a Windows 10 Pro reinstallation disc that I'd rather use than change the BIOS version or whatever. Besides, that'd be an upgrade since I'm on Windows 10 Home! Haha

If you all find out anything else, though, I'll definitely take a look and consider it. Thanks guys!

As I said, mine boots in 23 seconds into windows.......Hitting the button at the right time seemed impossible.
I have had a couple of thoughts -
    One
MSCONFIG- CHANGE BOOT TIMER to 60 seconds, maybe slow it up enough to get in (I have got used to mine , now, but sometimes I still miss time it)
Have the chkdsk run on restart- may give that little delay to click to kick into bios.
Honestly, I was as frustrated as you, when I first tried.

I'm referring to System Information which is included in Windows.
Open the Run dialogue, type msinfo32, press OK.

A quick workaround to access the BIOS is to disable Hibernation. That should give you a little more time to hit the F2 or Del key.
