Recently I have been getting a severe error when playing an online game.(GuildWars) I dont know what the error is because it flashes it on the screen for 1 sec then reboots the PC. I am thinking it has something to do with my videocard, but not sure.

Is there anyway to check a 'LOG' to see what exactly has been happening? I used 'checkit' and according to it, all my hardware runs fine. Also I have updated to the newest driver for my video card(which is old and shity)

    AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2700+ 2.2 GHz
    SAPPHIRE RADEON 9200SE ATLANTIS 128MB
    NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio
    Dual 512 ram. (1gig)
    Raid HD's
    Windows Xp Pro SP2

if you goto Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer either Application or System logs may have your errors logged

    Try Halo's suggestion.

Also, your mysterious error showing for 1 second then rebooting, sounds exactly like a BSOD (blue screen of death).

There are multiple ways in getting this to work. For now, just click START, then RUN, then type: sysdm.cpl (press enter)

Then click on the advanced tab, then within the area "Startup and recovery" click the "Settings" button, then uncheck "Automatically Restart" under system failure.

The info here should give us a wee bit more information.

Note: The following is another way to do the above:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl\
then changing the key AutoReboot from a 1 to a 0.

ok so I did it halos way and I didnt really get anymore info other then this.
    Error code 10000050, parameter1 fffffc53, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 afe79f2b, parameter4 00000000.

Nopt sure what this all means, but going to look it into it further.

Yes it is kinda like BSOD, I get a blue screen with a whole page of stuff, but it disappears so fast I cant read it in time.

I will try turning reboot on system failure off now. will post update in a few minutes.

Well the system reboot turned off allowed me to read the error msg.

It says I have an issue with a file named 'KMIXER.SYS' and it occured because of PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

so this is a driver file I think. Maybe I have wrong/bad driver for my video card!??! will try and reinstall new drivers.

kmixer.sys is part of the sound drivers for your nvidia nforce audio. try updating or rolling back the drivers for this device

    What motherboard are you using?

As Feriol said.....I'd also, you can try updating to the lastest version of the nforce drivers found either at your motherboard manufacturer's site or nvidia's.

Also, you MAY want to take out just one of your memory sticks. Page_fault errors are typical (not always) memory module issues.

This info is only helpful if you give use the full error. As in what actual component failed. Was it under system or application? etc....

Actually, kmixer.sys is a DirectX driver...

What version of DX are you using?

Adrynalyne- I am using directx 9.0c.

theefool - It doesnt say much else about it, I will trigger it off again and write down the entire page word for word for you. Hopefully it will help.

Feriol - I have a gigabyte motherboard. wish I knew how to get the actual model number. Going to go look for the box.

    thefool - I have a gigabyte k7 triton motherboard.
    Model #GA-7N400 Pro2, nvidia nforce2 chipset, socket A/Agp8, 4ddr(dual channel),6channel audio, usb2, SATA/RAID/ATA 133.

hope this helps solve it a bit. going to look for drivers on the motherboard site, as I cant seem to find the right ones on the nvidia site.
