How To Arrange Folders In Different Ways

Hi, I'm dumb at computers and can't find the answer to this via google search, so I was hoping some nice folks here could help me. I'm trying to arrange folders in different ways on my computer and only have succeeded in making things more complicated as time goes by. I've got three examples included, labelled one, two and three. One is my preferred arrangement, two is a nice variation on one, and three is my nightmare. Can someone please tell me or link me to something that ELI5's how to sort folders please? Any help would be appreciated.

 

go to file explorer and click on view and you can change how the icons look.

 

Thanks, I thought it would be this but I kept on clicking on random choices and kept getting more and more messed up, turns out it was 'view>details' that turned it back to list form. Thanks again.

 

All you have to do is right-click and you'll see:

• Arrange by

• View

• Sort by

• Group by
