    Hello,

This is my first time so be gentle.
I've tried using 127.0.0.1 No go. I've Restricted Sites, No Go, a * is added after I close the tols window ie http//*umble.com. Thank you for your time

edit your hosts file, close your browser and run an ipconfig/flushdns at command prompt.

    to edit hosts file:
start - my computer - c:/ drive - windows - system32 - drivers - etc - double click 'hosts' and use notepad to edit the file. this is what it looks like:

    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost

change localhost to that website www.umble.com

    Save the changes.

once you do that you need to go into command prompt and run ipconfig/flushdns

    to do this:
start - run - type cmd - hit enter
command prompt will come up. in command prompt type ipconfig/flushdns and hit enter. that website will be "blocked".

    KingSteve,
Did not work. I tried the ipconfig... the command was successful. The 127.0.0.1 www.umbla.com was already in the hosts file. I took it out ran the ipconfig/... put it back in and ran ipconfig/... again. No change
    Thanks

this is what the hosts file should look like.

    #127.0.0.1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 www.umbla.com

save that. close browsers and run ipconfig/flushdns. it should work, i just tried it.

I removed youtube (the only other one) form the the hosts and just used your procedure with umbla.com. It worked.
Maybe because I 1st went through google search to get to umbla.com and this time I typed in the URL.
Again thank you for your time
