Do you have the 64 bit version of StyleXP? It's here:

All you really need to do is replace the MS uxtheme.dll with one patched to accept non-MS signed themes. StyleXP does this in system memory. It is possible to replace the actual file for free, without an extra program running in the background.

This is a program that will patch the uxtheme dll for you automatically. There have been problems with 64 bit systems, like yours.

This details how you can manually patch the uxtheme dll.

Afterward you can use other themes. A couple of sites you might try:

Okay the styleXP 64bit also claims i do not have the version to enable it so it does not work.

I downloaded the uxtheme patch thinger, and i downloaded a theme from the belcher website, and i loaded theme.exe and it half worked, it just turned my theme to windows classic instead of what i downloaded...is there something im doing wrong?

    thanks for the help!

Uh couldnt find the edit button for my previous post but heres an update...

I googled my problem and someone linked another uxtheme hack thinger, well it half worked, it changes the icons and background for the themes but the taskbar still remains the same, im not sure what im missing, please anyone help this is driving me nuts i cant get out of windows classic mode!

EDIT: I think a problem might be that i dont have a service pack 2 installed....i googled it and i found a 64bit version of it, cause i tried to installed a microsoft issued zune theme to see if it worked,a nd it said i didnt have SP2 installed which i thought was wierd, i figured it would automatically install itself via windows update(it says im up to date and no "critical" updates are needed)
