I ran the cc cleaner and it pulled up a lot of old files, web sites i went to, favorite web sites i deleted ect....... Is there any way to delete all of that stuff that cc found? Would it make my computer faster?

I think you're misunderstanding. CCleaner automatically deletes what it finds (except for Issues, where you have to pick what to delete). That's what the program is for.

Yes. I'm quite confused. I thought that system allowed me to restore a file but i guess it deleted everything, right? I ran it again and it pulled up the same files.

Are you hitting "Run Cleaner" as opposed to "Analyze"?

That's probably what you're doing. If you run the program and then immediately run it again, it should find nothing the second time. Except for Issues, there's no option to save a backup of what's being deleted.

Sorry but i told you the wrong thing. It is the PC Inspector File Recovery that i used. It brought up a lot of bs that i never will need. Plus i'm going to sell this computer in a month and don't want the next owner to see what web sites i've been to and pictures i've downloaded if you know what i mean.

I would use CCleaner to remove any junk it finds.

but onto the deleted files, as you now know when you delete something its not lost completly its just tagged as free space until its written over with new data. You can use Eraser 5.7 to erase the delete/un-used space on your HD.

Also if you are selling the PC, are you selling it with a working OS or with a blank HD? if you wish to completly blank the HD then Darik's Boot and Nuke (CDR/CDRW Version) 1.0.5 ( also floppy version available ) will completly erase all data on the drive so its effectively like a new blank HD.

I'm selling it with all the games and saved games, divx player, all the spyware stuff ect... When i ran the PC Inspector it pulled up my old TurboTax with SS#, a crap load of internet pictures, my credit card purchases and such. Thats the stuff i want gone.

you can use Eraser to file wipe those folders or locations with Turbo Tax data that you find, check to see where Turbo Tax saves data and make a note of it then use Eraser to wipe both Turbo Tax folder from Program Files and any other location that data is saved to.
