how to clean

ok, i know this may be a daft question, but how do you clean a computer. i have had mine for 18 months and know that all of the equipment must be full of dust by now. i have never taken the back off of it to see, and am frightend to mess with it. however it must be time. i should probably start with the keyboard and work my way up, but, again i am nervous about dismantleing it. i have an e machine C2825, with windows XP.

 

thanks, that was helpful. i suppose i just have to 'bite the bullet' and do it. i will get some canned air, and i have artist brushes that will help. if it all goes tits up, MG will be the first to know. lol. 'there is nothing to fear but fear itself'. much aloha

they let me out for good behaviour.

 

Canned air is good, vaccume is good, with the computer off, its a good idea to blow the power supply out with some canned air, and let the rest be for now. When you are ready for an upgrade then its good to clean the system out.

 

A vaccum is bad as kernelgeek has already said,its forbidden to clean the inside of the computer with a vaccum the static can kill sensitive components

upgrade = new puter??

havent got the air yet. 60mls to town. only just recovering from cristmas so have no spending money. dont worry, i will post with update.
