How to Clear previous desktop choices from selection menu

I searched but could not find and answer.. sorry if this is a repeat but here it goes... I have changed my desktop images quite a bit and it seems that any time I have browsed to an image it has saved it as a selection for future use. But to make things worse it seems that everytime I browse to an image and select it.... it adds every image from that directory to the list of choices.

1 I would like to clear the list
2. Stop it from adding every image in the directory

HI!
It's a tad involved....you basically have to move all your display pictures listed to a different location.

For the Display Properties Background tab, Windows XP fetches the image files from the following locations:

BMP Files from %Systemroot% folder.

BMP, JPG, GIF, JPE, DIB, PNG, HTM files from the following locations:

%Systemroot%\Web\Wallpaper
%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Pictures (& sub-folders)
%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
%ProgramFiles%\Plus!\Themes (& sub-folders)
If you want to clear a file from the background tab listing, move the file away from the above mentioned locations. To access each of the folders above, type the Path in Start-Run dialog.

Note

%Systemroot% represents the folder where Windows is installed.
%USERPROFILE% represents the user profile home path
%AppData% represents the Application Data folder path
%ProgramFiles% represents the Program Files folder

Gee whiz.. thanks. Actually it wasn't that hard. All of the offending photos were in "My Pictures" directory. I wish I could change the bahaviour but I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
