How to convert flv to mp3?

Hello, new here, hope I posted in the right place, as I want to know if you have a better idea in finding a way to convert some youtube videos to mp3 for listening in my car. The problem is that until now I used to convert them with an online converter, but I don't want to use it anymore as the files' quality is very bad.
I know that there are many flv to mp3 converts but the problem is that I'm not so good in pcs or apps and I don't know which app is good or not. And easy of course...

What online converter did you use? I'm using vixy.net to download and to convert youtube videos. It can also convert flv to mp3, there is an option before you start the process. Indeed you can lose in quality because every process of this kind can lose in quality. So, if you ever find a good way to convert videos which doesn't lose in quality, please share with me, I'm so curious to find an app which convert flv to mp3 without quality lose.

 

I used to use zamzar, but every time I converted flvs to mp3s the converted files I got were very low in quality and on pc they sounded pretty good but when I transfered them on mp3 player the files were very bad. I also tried vixy as you recommended it to me but this one just downloads the videos to pc and I would like to convert the flv I have on my pc to mp3.

If you just google a little bit you will find many ways to convert flv to mp3, I don't trust in online converters either and a while ago I was looking for a good way to convert youtube videos to avi in order to play them on my player and I found tunebite, it's a free version which allows you to download and convert youtube videos to any formats you want. For now I just use this free version but I'm thinking to upgrade it because it has many other useful features.

Format Factory is totally free, and and excellent media converter for both music and video. For audio, check out Switch or XRECODE. However, since .flv is a video format, I'm assuming you want to extract the audio from it, then convert it to MP3. I'm pretty sure Format Factory will work as suggested by jblim1980 above. Good luck! wow..many thanks for helping me guys... I have tried all the tools you recommended to me. Flv converter seems to convert just videos, meaning flv to other video formats and not to mp3 as I need, Format factory seemed to be ok, but unfortunately after conversion there was a delay between audio and video and it worked very slow, that meaning for an about 4 min flv I had to wait about a half of hour to finish. Also tried tunebite, its free version, I couldn't convert my flv I have on my pc because the free version allows you to convert flv only while downloading the videos. But that was not a bad thing because I've tested it with some youtube videos I've downloaded them and converted them directly while downloading to mp3 and worked well, it completed the process immediately and with good quality. Also, what I liked a lot is that it can download and convert more files in the same time.
So, I think I'll stay with Tunebite, if no problem occurs in the future.

You could have done this job with vixy.net too, but you said that it can just download youtube videos and you don't need a way to download youtube videos but to convert the flv you have them o your pc. As I understood only the paid version can convert the files you have on your pc, the free version can download youtube videos and convert them to mp3s....so, why did you bother to install it on your pc since you could just to use vixy? Indeed, it has many other useful features even the free one, I took a look at it and seemed to be ok...

 

:-D You're right but I have downloaded and converted youtube videos just to test it and see how it does its job, the quality of the converted files and if it's easy to use or not. And since I like it and how it does its job, I'll buy the full version in order to have access to all its features. Honestly, this Tunebite is a very good way to get music and movies for free and play them on any devices. I know that I'm not the only one who doesn't know what to use for converting audio and video files, I'd recommend this Tunebite as it can convert many audio and video files in any formats I want, not only flv to mp3 as I needed, but also flv to mp4, if you have some wmvs it can convert wmv to avi or mp4 or any other format you need.
That's why I chose to get this app because it has many useful features which can give up me the possibility to get unlimited music and movies from streaming online music and movies websites...
