How to correct a problem with Windows Installer

Hello, I am palewpa7. I joined the group less than 24 hours ago. I learned about this website by playing on the internet. I cannot download or opened any document on my computer. I tried to download a copy of Adobe, and I received a prompt telling me that there is a problem with Windows Installer. I visited Microsoft's website but the solution they offered did not work for me. Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Thanks, This helped me with a lots of issues that I was having, however, it did not resolved the Windows Installer issue. Maybe if I reinstall Windows7, the problem would be corrected?

 

Ya it could help but you have to find the cause first. By re-installing you at least have a clean slate and will help us further to diagnose the issue.

 

I am experiencing Windows Installer errors too.
It won't install the Windows XP Image Resize Powertoy.
So I surfed the Microsoft sites and every suggested fix fails equally to install.

Windows XP Media Edition 2004
My system disk is corrupted so I have to repair what I have.
I have attached a couple of error reports.

Can you help please?

Go to the link below and scroll down to #94 on the left-hand side(Windows Installer Fix) and run it. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

I wasn't sure whether or not your reply was addressed 2me. So I did try that link but I still cannot install anything, neither Windows XP Image Resize Powertoy nor even ITunes!

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer ix not correcty installed."

Technically and legally I should be able to re-download Windows Installer under my lifetime licence with Microsoft, but we know they have the after-sales service of a funeral director LOL.

Any idea please.
