McAfee reports the file C:\WINDOWS\gwievrux.exe has a Virus name" Downloader-DH.

It suggests that the file be deleted but McAfee cannot delete it.

I checked the file with the ATTRIB command and it has no attributes set - How can I remove this from the system????

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Just fixed a trojan for a friend with a similar problem. All you need to understand isthat the file is in use, so you CANT delete it.

Then, assuming you have Windows XP (next time specify your operating system please) hit the ctrl alt delte keys and that brings up a list of processes. Find that file name, highlight it and click end process. Now delete it.

The question is, what launches it. Check your startup or use a program like StartupCPL to look for other places it could be starting, because even gone, it (the virus) may either attempt to launch it OR have a way of recreating the file.
