how to delete "undeletable" IE links?

I don't know why, but there are some links in my IE that won't go away.
For example... I was trying to solve a trivia debate related to Johnny Mathis (long story). I went to his page, and no matter how many times I clear my history, etc, his link still comes up. Every time I type "www.j" the first thing that pops up in my location bar is the link to Johnny Mathis' bio!

Why?!

How can I clear this link?

Have you scanned for spyware? Also, what Operating System are you using?

 

Also try this. Or basically anything that can clean index.dat files.

 

I use XP Pro, and I have scanned for Spyware.
Will this program wipe out things like cookies / my settings on pages like Amazon.ca?

 

It probably can. I'm not sure how much control it gives you.

 

Sounds like AutoComplete is on.

Intenet Options > Content > AutoComplete > untick 'Web addresses'

You can also turn off/clear form and password stuff in there.

 

sorry to butt in guys .its the only way i can post my problem. evey time i click on a link this pops up

Why don't you start a new thread, and then post some specifics, like what Operating System you are using, the size of your hard drive, size of processor, how much memory, etc etc.
