How to disable right-click on posted photos?

If I post a photo to a website using an online host such as Photobucket, is there a way I can protect it so that it can't be right-clicked and copied?

I have been to sites where their photos are right-click disabled, and I'm hoping I'll be able to do it for my photo.

there is a way, i can't remember but i think it involves some kind of javascript. why don't you google it, and see what comes up?
i'm also looking at doing this but can't quite work out how!!!

 

Hmmmm this is a good thing to know if you post pics on the web!! But if ppl really wanted the pic couldnt they just do a "Print Scrn" and crop the rest of the screen off?? Coz Im sure Ive done that b4......but hey I aint no expert lol.

 

Interesting! I am of the view that anything that appears on your monitor is able to be captured. The simple way is to press print screen and int's o your clipboard. The other way is a program like Screen Hunter where you can activate it and run a square around it and press a control key and again it's on your clipboard. So -I think Java or not - if it's on your monitor - it's available!

Yes. Even if you get that "no right clicking" thing to work, like others have said, screen shots are what people will use next.

 

Javascript can do it, check out The Javascript Source, you should be able to find the code there.

If someone wants the picture though, they will get it. Screen captures and such as mentioned before, heck Firefox even has a plugin that will override the Javascript and allow right clicks.

David, the Java Script site is great. Gonna spend some time looking around.

 

But disableing the right click will stop most casual copiers.

 

Yea it will stop the ones that dont know about the Print Scrn!
