If my memory serves me right in XP, click Sytems Info you should be able to open the startup windows and select or disable the application you do not want to run on bootup.
On my system now there is no opportunity in startup window to disable application on startup.
Can somebody help how I can do that.
    Thanks

much like ComputerGate said. when i was running XP, i'd go start, run, msconfig, the select selective start-up and then edit the list of programs that start up. i found things seem to load a heck of a lot quicker that way

Guys thanks to all of you for replying.
My other question then was I wrong in my assumption that I should be able to disable opening application on startup from the system utility window like in W98.
    Thanks
