after accidentally disabling them in BIOS.
My Acer desktop(Windows Vista), was getting hung up on the Windows booting status bar, so I went into BIOS and disabled all the drivers by accident because I am a novice who THOUGHT she knew what she was doing.

I removed the CMOS battery hoping this would resolve that problem, but obviously that wasn't the answer.

My question is, how do I enable the drivers? At this point, the pc turns on, I get the Acer logo, Windows tries to load files, then status bar gets hung up.

All help/suggestions are greatly appreciated by this pc neophyte.

BIOS doesn't have drivers.. the drive(s) can be enabled in BIOS, by doing the exact opposite of what you did to disable them. Hitting f2,f11,f12,del,esc, whatever key that will get you back into BIOS. If the drives are detected there, try changing the controllers from ACHI mode to legacy or if it is legacy try ACHI. You might have to fix the secure boot too.
Also since you've pullled the battery, you might need to set the date and time.

Thank you for the response. As for going back into BIOS, that's not a problem. As for doing the opposite of what I did to re-enable the drivers again, there's not an obvious, for me, option.
Forgive me for sounding simple, but I clicked on the button to disable, not knowing what I was about to do. There isn't an "enable" but to hit.

Any further advice is appreciated along with your patience to this 76 year old lady.

On most high light the drive in question then right arrow the function should change.

What BIOS is it? Award, Dell, Phoenix? What is the computer model? Maybe we can be more specific.
Sometimes you have to hit + or -, or enter... can't tell for sure, if you could answer the above questions.
