I have a few .mpg files that I cannot open with WMP 9. I have divx 5.1, xvid, ogg, ogm, and ac3 codecs.
but a program called vlc can play them.
The only problem is it cant tell me the codec its using to play them.

Ive been able to fing programs that tell me what codec an avi uses, but not for mpg.

Does anyone know a way I can find out what codec my files are using?

Sometimes what you can do is double click the name of the file on the right, even if it can't play it,and it will sometimes tell you what codec is needed.

    Hi:

Go here http://codeccorner.com/start.html Test for the CODECs you have & those you may need.

    Happy trails,
