    Hi,
I am buying a New Dell workstation 3660 . Dell will install two Nvidia T-600 graphics cards which will run 8 monitors.

    I have 12 Monitors ( 1920x1200 Resolution )

Now there is only one 4X slot left where another 16X card will not fit which can run 4 leftover monitors.

Is there a way to run 3rd full length 16X graphics card Nvidia T-600 which will run 4 more monitors ?

This workstation does have latest USB 3.2 Type C ports & two Display Ports.

Can I use a 4X to 16X Riser card & place 3rd graphics card there ? Would the bandwidth be enough from 4X slot ?

Has anyone tried anything that works ?

    Any other ideas ?

    Thank You

I'm assuming you're talking about the OptiPlex 3660, which appears to have a single PCIe x16 slot and two x4 slots. One of the x4 slots (23 in the image) is open-ended so it takes a x16 card without any issues. The other PCIe x4 slot is closed-ended so it wouldn't fit an x16 card natively. However, what you mentioned, a riser card, would work. There is a riser card here (link) and a riser cable here (link). The riser card is going to be a bit more difficult mounting the GPU as it doesn't look like it "raises" the GPU high enough to the point where you would be able to use either the low-profile or high-profile GPU bracket. I would recommend the riser cable as with that solution you could use the low-profile GPU bracket and it would be much more secure. Your performance on the two video cards on the x4 connectors will be decreased somewhat but the performance hit is basically negligible. I attached a second photo showing performance degradation over different amounts of PCIe lanes and generations and it's really not that bad unless you go all the way back to PCIe 1.1 (which you don't have to worry about with this brand new workstation).

    Thanks. Really appreciate the help.
It is hard to figure out the space without physically having the system.

It does have two DPs & 2 USB 3.2 Type-C. Can you use them to run last 4 monitors instead of taking a chance on a third Card ?
