Hello all, I have a laptop and the DVD drive isn't working....Mechanically it works, but my Comp. won't read any files nor does the drive show up under the my computer tab. Device manager says that the registry file for the drive is damaged or corrupt. I have ran numerous Registry repair/cleaner/defrag programs and can't get it working...Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

    Hi

What Windows version are you using?

Does Device Manager tell you what regisyry file is corrupt, if so what is its name?

Odds are its something to do with the upper and lower filters so follow this http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems and see how you go, may need if your burning app doesnt work or recognise the drive after doing the fix, just reinstall the burning app
