Bold_Fortune stated it's safe to delete all KB .cat files; however, there's an error entry in the dberr.txt log for every one that I deleted. For example:

CatalogDB: 2:04:27 AM 10/16/2008: The following file was not found - C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\KB899587.cat

Do I need to reinstall the KB Hotfixes since I deleted their corresponding KB .cat files?

Are KB .cat files important? Or, is this just Microsoft's XP complaining there's a problem that really isn't a problem?
