how to format hard drive from DOS ??

    After attempting to install a new hard drive my other PC appears to have lost windows ?????

    anyway i figured i would just format it and install windows again, so how do i do that when i can't get into windows, only dos.

    would a disk made by This utility from maxtor

    do the job, or can you point me in the right direction

    Yes, MaxBlast 3 will do the trick, if you have Maxtor HDD, and you follow instructions, Scroll down near bottom of page aditional Maxblast Documentation.
    I have several Maxtor HDD and I have used Maxblast 3 several times, is Great program, If you purchase Retail Maxtor HDD you Get Maxblast 3 CD with it.


    You maybe able to recover you OS on existing HDD, maybe jumper thing or something simple, Provide some details on how ya lost it, some spec's of HDD's and PC would most likely Help to do such!

    If you just type (exactly) this it will give you instructions


    FORMAT C: (or the letter of the drive you want to format)

    using a win98 startup disk makes it a piece of cake
