    Hi,

I have a new flat screen monitorwith speakers that i want to connect to my PC for audio and vision.

The vision is fine since I've managed to connect PC and monitor with VGA cable.

What is it I need to connect PC and monitor for the built in monitor speakers to emit sound?

is it a 3.5mm stereo to stereo jack?

connect at back of pc and back of monitor and it should work?

    thanks

All you need is a stereo patch cable. Examine the area on the monitor where the video and power cables plug in. There should be a small jack that closely resembles the sound jacks on the back or your PC. Simply run a cable from this jack on the monitor to the 'audio out' jack on the PC (usually a green jack), and be sure the volume on the monitor speakers is turned up to at least 50%, you can then control the sound volume with the regular Windows volume control ;)

(when cable shopping, look for a Male-Male Stereo 3.5mm Audio Cable)

Ok thanks I've found what I need :)

Another thing though...I have speakers plugged into my laptop. The jack is at the front and the cable wrapping around the front of the laptop is annoying me.

Is there such a thing as a 3.55mm jack usb adapter?

IE. can I plug an adapter into my usb slot that will then accept my 3.5mm jack from my speakers???
