how to have a dialog appear MSVC DirectX

    I'm trying to make a dialog box appear at the startup of a program but it's effing hard.
    i cant find any decent advice on the internet - i just want to be able to make a dialog box appear at the start of my program so i can select some settings.

    can someone please teach me how to make a dialog box and have it start up with my program before i cry!!
