How to increase CPU usage for Cygwin processes?

    Hello,

I'm running some cpu intensive jobs under cygwin. (it's part of the requirement to run the job under cygwin, so I can't get out of it by using linux...) The performance is REALLY bad and seems like the cygwin is doing A LOT. However, when I open the task manager it shows that the cygwin is only using approximately 1% of the CPU power and 99% of the CPU is idle. The same program runs fine on any linux machine (It sucks up 98% of the CPU on a normal linux machine).

So I think it's because windows is limiting Cygwin's CPU usage per process. Is there anyway I can increase the limit?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks!

It wouldn't hurt to try changing the priority of the process in the tskmngr.

Probably won't work but worth a try :)

    Thanks a lot though!
