how to install megaphone on 98se and xp

Both myself and my father like the megaphone software that was used on win 95 but neither of us are able to install it properly.(my system 98se and his xp) I'm not certain what is stopping the xp from installing but on my system 98se when i try to call someone a box appears which indicates I need to pick up the reciever or hang up. And then when i pick up the reciever i hear my fax machine in the earpiece of my phone. Any suggestions on how to fix or other software that works well with 98se. I know my father hates the com phone software that came with his xp. Help!!!!! Thanks. Matthew.
