    Hi,

My husband has a problem with his wireless connection, it's a Medion laptop, Windows 8, 64 bit. It keeps losing the internet, sometimes several times each day. The other computers and phones in the house don't have this problem, so I thought it might be the wireless card, that is broken. After connecting again through troubleshooting, the explanation is, that there is a problem either with the wireless card or the router. Our company have checked the router and say they can't see anything wrong with it, they have even updated the router in order to check, if this was the issue, but no.

When I look at the information about the drive for the wireless card it says it works correctly. But I would like to see, if a TrendNet 150Mbps Mini Wireless N USB adapter would work, so that I can narrow down, where the problem is. I have already used it with another pc, which had the same problem, and it worked perfectly.

But I don't remember, if I should deactivate the wireless card, before I start the installation of the USB adapter. You install it with an Install utility on a cd, no problem there.

    Kind regards

    Nicoline

    Not necessary.
Go ahead and install the USB adapter.

Eldon, thanks for your answer. It was successfully installed. the icon for the USB adapter is green, but now I have two WiFi connections, the one related to for laptop's wireless card, the other to the USB adapter. Is it supposed to stay like that, or should I disable the one related to the wireless card (don't know how).

I looked it up on the internet, it is possible that the two WiFi connections can cause a conflict, so I disabled the wireless (found the solution how to do it). Because both Coogle Chrome and Firefox stopped working, but after a restart everything works fine.
