how to make a copyrighted cd

I want to sell some stuff to my friends on a cd, but i dont want them to just buy one and copy it and give it out to everyone for free. is there a way to put data on a cd and put a profile on it such as securom or something on it so people cant copy the cd or transfer the files to their hd? thanks

 

Perhaps you could develope a key system? and have the user register with a website first. and if the key is in use, it would shut the program down. you know what i mean? but there are programs to get around copyrighted things like blindwrite. if ur friends were that desperate they could use a program like that.

 

If you're doing runs of a CD, some CD printing presses will provide you with SecurRom or Safedisc protections if you ask for it.

However, these are the most advanced forms of copy protection for CDs at the moment, and they are only availlable when pressing (rather than burning, due to the processes they use to embed their key), and they are also defeatable reletivley easily.

If you're selling software, user liscence system would be the way to go again, not foolproof but better than nothing!
