   Standard gifs can be made from nearly any picture format.
   Simply Save As>gif from your graphics editor.
   gifs are limited to 256 colors, so you will probably be asked by your editor for permission to reduce the number of colors of your picture.
   If you are refering to animated gifs, there is a freeware program available:
